ETNA and VOLCANIC wines are hot and for good reason. ETNA is all about power and elegance combined for both its red and white wines. Wines have a mineral edge which tasters attribute to Etna's volcanic soils. Etna flung Sicily into the international spotlight about 15 years ago with its amazing wines.
This evening we will be featuring le Vigne di Eli. Established in 2006 by Marco de Grazia, founder of the iconic Tenuta delle Terra Nere, le Vigne di Eli is a tiny boutique estate on the north slope of the Etna volcano making wines of the native grape varieties of the region, from vineyards selected within the counties of Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo that are farmed organically. This boutique estate produces only 8000 bottles so we are lucky to have Sommelier Greg McCormick taste through some of the bottles that made it to La BOTTEGA.
